From his parent’s house in a leafy Bolton suburb, Hugh Nelson ran a depraved ‘business’ selling sexual images of children to paedophiles all around the world.
The transaction was hauntingly simple - family members would send in a picture of a real child and £80, and Nelson would use AI with a 3D modelling software to create realistic indecent images of them in whatever pose or scenario the commissioner requested.
In a ‘landmark’ conviction, Nelson was jailed for 18 years following a sentencing at Bolton Crown Court on Monday (October 28).
The judge called his crimes ‘utterly chilling’ and remarked that there was ‘no limit to the depth of depravity’ of the images created.
