A new Netflix documentary about freediving has had viewers 'stressed' and many 'in bits'. But people have been quick to recommend The Deepest Breath, which premiered on the streaming giant earlier this week.
The documentary centres on the sport, which is a form of underwater diving that relies on breath-holding until resurfacing rather than the use of breathing apparatus such as scuba gear.
It is centred around the tragic love story of Italian freediving champion Alessia Zecchini and her boyfriend and safety diver Stephen Keenan.
After traveling to Dahab, Egypt, to attempt one of the world’s most dangerous dives, she meets adventurer and Irish record-setting freediver Stephen.
