A new school will be built in Denton to replace one which has struggled with ‘considerable condition issues’ for the last 25 years, a report has found.
Russell Scott Primary School was due to be rebuilt as part of the Building Schools for the Future programme in the 2000’s - but things never progressed and the programme was later cancelled in 2010.
According to a report, remodelling works were completed to create additional space but the underlying condition issues were never addressed and these have continued to cause a significant number of problems affecting the use of the building. The scale of the school land off Clare Street allows for the construction of the new building to be erected on the current site.
