Bruno Miguel Borges Fernandes (born 8 September 1994) is a Portuguese footballer who plays for Primeira Liga club Sporting CP and the Portugal national team as a midfielder. Fernandes started his career at Serie B side Novara Calcio and soon featured for Udinese and Sampdoria in Serie A.
In 2017, he signed with Sporting CP where he established himself as one of the best players in the Primeira Liga. He was named the LPFP Primeira Liga Player of the Year in both 2017–18 and 2018–19. In the latter season, he also helped Sporting win the Taça de Portugal. A senior international since 2017, Fernandes represented Portugal at the 2016 Summer Olympics and 2018 FIFA World Cup.
Manchester United could be set for a further £12.5million windfall from Donny van de Beek's transfer to Girona, according to reports in Spain.
The La Liga outfit reportedly paid £416,000 for the Dutch midfielder, having struggled at Old Trafford since joining the Reds from Ajax.
United signed Van de Beek from Ajax for a fee believed to be in the region of £40million, but he'd make just 62 appearances for the club after arriving in 2020.
The majority of those appearances came during his first season with the club, making 36 in all competitions, scoring once. However, his game time would dwindle over the next three seasons and would have loan moves with Everton and Eintracht Frankfurt before sealing a permanent move this summer on a cut price fee.
