An NHS GP surgery and walk-in centre being demolished to make way for a new supermarket is 'very tight' for time to find somewhere new.
Hawthorn Medical Centre in Fallowfield was left gobsmacked by the news that it would be moved out of its premises as Lidl took over the land.
The medical centre has now been left scrambling to find a new site to build on, or a building it could convert - all before a demolition deadline of October 2025.
The health centre's bosses say that 'this doesn't have to necessarily be a bad thing', as the successful surgery has been expanding and its current location is now too small.
