A 'Santa Steam Train' on which families can take a Christmas-themed railway ride is coming to Scotland this winter. The Bo'ness and Kinneil Railway is a heritage railway based in the scenic town of Bo'ness on the south bank of the Firth of Forth.

Across the four weekends of December, it will be hosting a "magical steam train journey" to and from 'the North Poll South' — Birkhill in Angus. Those who buy a ticket will be able to reserve a seat in a festively decorated shared carriage or even book their own private compartment.

Meanwhile, all families on board will receive a visit from Santa Claus, who will give out "a quality present to all children, infants, and babies who have been good this year".Also included is live on-board entertainment such as festive singers and magicians, as well as complimentary seasonal refreshments.

Those with a ticket will also be able to ride the miniature steam train ride at Bo'ness and explore its Museum of Scottish Railways. The return train journey will take approximately 60 minutes, though the Bo'ness and Kinneil Railway advises allowing extra time to visit the museum and gift shop.
