A 'WrapUp Glasgow' campaign has been launched ahead of the freezing winter months to help the homeless stay warm during harsh weather.

Organisers are urging people to support the initiative which will see bags of unwanted coats collected and donated to several organisations supporting people in need.

UK-based charity Human Appeal launched this year's campaign after figures from Shelter Scotland revealed the number of households experiencing homelessness had risen by 10 per cent compared to last year.

As reported in Glasgow Live, Safestore will distribute the clothing to homeless shelters, vulnerable women and children’s centres, organisations supporting refugee families, the elderly and those fleeing domestic violence.
