A man has been arrested after police uncovered a huge cannabis farm inside a former Marks & Spencer in the centre of a Peak District town.
Officers raided the empty unit in Spring Gardens in Buxton on Monday (September 25) after receiving a tip-off from locals. They found almost 1,000 cannabis plants inside, growing over multiple floors in part of the old M&S building.
A 34-year-old man - believed to be an Albanian national - was arrested on suspicion of cannabis cultivation and immigration offences, Derbyshire Police said.
Officers added that he has been 'handed over to the immigration authorities'.
