Heartwarming pictures have shown the moment that a little boy met a 100-year-old care home resident during the Queen's Jubilee celebrations.

When Teddie Hodkinson, aged just 10, heard that the Reinbek Borough Care home was home to Clifford Elliot, aged 100, he was 'desperate' to meet him.

As crowds gathered for patriotic street parties and celebrations this weekend, marking the Queen's Platinum Jubilee, the pair spent the afternoon together in a meeting that century-old Clifford said 'made his day'.

Teddie's mum Stacey works in admin at the home, and arranged for the two to meet. It comes after Clifford, who turned the grand age of 100 back in January, received his card from the Queen congratulating him on the milestone.
