Comedy Central’s The Daily Show had planned a full week of shows from the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee from July 15-18, culminating with a live show on the closing night, Thursday, May 18, hosted by Jon Stewart.

Following the Saturday assassination attempt against the Republican Presidential nominee Donald Trump and its aftermath, the Comedy Central show, is making adjustments to its Indecision 2024 coverage.

There will be no telecasts from Milwaukee. The Daily Show will go dark on Monday, July 15, as the writers and crew, some of whom had already traveled to Wisconsin, make the logistical change, with the Tuesday-Thursday episodes airing from the program’s New York studio.

Jon Stewart is expected to be heavily involved, and could take on hosting duties as soon as Tuesday. CBS’ The Late Show With Stephen Colbert is set for live editions Monday-Thursday from New York; those plans remain in place.
