A Greater Manchester chef is set to represent the North West in the new series of BBC Two's Great British Menu. Stockport-born Eddie Shepherd will be appearing on the show next week alongside three other chefs from the region.

Eddie is known for his acclaimed restaurant The Walled Garden, an exclusive dining concept which sees the top chef serve food to diners in his own home in Whalley Range.

Serving up incredible vegan and vegetarian food, the intimate restaurant space seats just eight diners at a time, and is so popular that it's booked out months in advance.

Confirming the news last night, the chef took to social media to share the news, and asked his followers to 'wish me luck'. It will be his first time on the show, but follows a string of awards for his restaurant over the last few years and rave reviews.
