Mark Labbett, star of ITV's The Chase, was notably missing from the National Television Awards, despite The Chase bagging the Best Daytime Show award. The 59 year old missed the opportunity to join Bradley Walsh, Anne Hegerty and Sean Walsh on stage to accept the honour. This absence came as a surprise, especially since the show recently marked its 15th anniversary on TV.
Mark's decision to skip the event followed his recent split with TV host Hayley Palmer. The couple first met at the same glitzy event two years ago, crossing paths backstage.
In 2023, Hayley, 42, attended the event with Mark, with the pair making a joint appearance on the red carpet. Speaking to the Express, Hayley revealed that she chose to give the ceremony a miss this year due to concerns about running into Mark.
She disclosed in May that they had parted ways just days after their one-year anniversary, leaving her utterly "heartbroken." Hayley shared that she decided to stay away as they hadn't seen each other since he ended things over the phone.
