Celtic fans were left annoyed at ITV's popular gameshow 'The Chase' on Tuesday evening - after infamous chaser Mark 'The Beast' Labbett got the name of their founding father Brother Walfrid wrong.Hoops fans' heads will have turned sharply when listening in to the gameshow when presenter Bradley Walsh read out the question reading: "What year appears on the badge of Celtic Football Club?".

Contestant Lucy had the choice of 1666, 1777 or 1888 as multiple choice question, with many at home likely shouting at the TV before the answers even came up.

Lucy selected 1777, leaving Celtic fans covered their eyes in horror at the choice, with the Chaser getting it right to close in on eliminating Lucy and her £7,000."I really didn't want a football question to come up," the contestant said. "It's more about history, really!" Walsh answered, before going to the chaser's answer, where he got it right. It appeared to be right for the wrong reasons though as Celtic-leaning viewers were annoyed at the Chaser's reasoning, when he said: "Originally founded by Brother Wilfred, I believe - to help the poor of the parish in Glasgow."Whilst the Chaser wasn't miles wide of the mark, Celtic fans were less than impressed with his pronunciation of Brother Walfrid, who remains to this day one of the most popular figures in Celtic's long history.Walfrid, of course, formally constituted Celtic Football Club at a meeting in 1887 to alleviate poverty in the East End of Glasgow, forming the club to fund raise for those in need.

One fan was quick to point out the mistake, though ITV's subtitles changed the spelling to the correct way.READ NEXT:
