The Chase fans hit out at one contestant on Monday after he claimed there was "not much difference" between £200 and £2,000.

Alan, 81, appeared on Monday's show and caused a stir with those watching at home not impressed by his comments. He made the claim after Nikki, 45, endured a miserable first round.

She earned £2,000 - but admitted she had a day to forget after getting a number of questions wrong. The school teacher from Stockton-on-Tees was met with an offer from fearsome Chaser Ann Hegerty.

The £200 bargaining tool was put forward and host Bradley Walsh, as usual, asked the team for their take. Alan, a retired glassblower from Suffolk, made his thoughts clear.
