It is no secret that Scotland is a top choice when it comes to filming destinations for movies and TV shows, especially in recent years.Among the blockbusters that have been shot in the country lately are juggernauts such as Avengers: Infinity War, The Batman, and Fast & Furious 9.

Going further back in time, there is a seemingly-endless list of classics that were produced here, from The Wicker Man to Local Hero.One film that is less often talked about when it comes to movies filmed in Scotland is Captain America: The First Avenger.

Scenes for the 2011 film, which was one of the first movies in the now-legendary Marvel Cinematic Universe, were shot in Culross.The historic Fife village stood in for a Norwegian town in the superhero classic, which was set during the Second World War.

In the scene, two soldiers can be seen running from a tank after it crashes through a house.If you are a fan of Captain America: The First Avenger and never realised Culross was in the film, there is a good reason for that.
