The Boys star Jack Quaid has revealed that he auditioned for James Gunn‘s Superman, but “didn’t get very far” in the casting process.The upcoming film, now simply titled Superman after it was initially named Superman: Legacy, sees David Corenswet take on the titular role.
The film is set to arrive in July 2025 and will mark the launch of a new version of the DC Universe.Appearing on the Happy Sad Confused Podcast, Quaid said that he submitted a self-tape for the role, but didn’t hear anything back from the filmmakers.“I didn’t get very far,” he said. “I put myself on tape and it went nowhere, and that’s fine.
I’m totally cool with it.”Quaid went on to say that he knows Corenswet and he wasn’t surprised at all to hear that he’d been cast as the new Man of Steel.“I know David Corenswet.
He’s one of those people you meet, and you go ‘Oh yeah… whenever they need another [Superman], it’s probably going to be you,'” he said.
