Over the coming weeks woodland areas will be transformed with bluebells as these gorgeous purple flowers start to bloom. They usually follow suit once golden daffodils have appeared and signify that spring is well and truly underway.
With drooping heads and delicate sweet scent, bluebells are instantly recognisable. Although not as common as daffodils, these flowers can be found all over, from stretches of ancient woodland to the gardens of stately homes.
Bluebells normally flower from mid-April to around mid-May, so there isn’t long to catch these magical blooms. Make the most of these fleeting flowers by going out on a spring walk and spotting them along the way.
