The iconic Spitfire will fly over the skies of Greater Manchester next weekend (April 26 to 29). In a rare opportunity, members of the public are being offered a chance to fly in the Spitfire, an original two-seater training variant, itself from Blackpool airport.

There are a limited number of flights available, with 30, 45 and 55 minute slots up for grabs. The Spitfire will be flying different routes across the North West across the weekend - depending on where customers have requested to fly.

Customers can expect to receive a detailed pre-flight briefing covering the aircraft, equipment and safety procedures, approximately 10 minutes taxiing and engine checks, a digital video of the experience and up to three guests who can come along to watch from the viewing gallery.
