Tesco offers dad £1 compensation after finding poisonous weed in coriander

A dad found a poisonous weed in a bag of coriander that he bought from Tesco. Peter Burrows had popped to the store in Newport, South Wales, yesterday to get some ingredients to make a Mexican meal with his young son.

But he later discovered the packet he'd picked up contained ragwort - an invasive toxic weed that can be harmful if ingested.

And the 39-year-old builder said it was lucky he caught a glimpse of the plant just before six-year-old Harry managed to get his hands on it.
