Terrified mum who gave birth to tiny 1lb baby at home 'thought he was dead'

A young couple have spoke of the traumatic moment their extremely premature baby was born unexpectedly at home - weighing a little over 1lb.

Jenna Cullen and her partner Jack Harris, both 28, were left terrified when their tiny son Hunter arrived just 30 weeks into the pregnancy in November 2021.

Mum Jenna, from Swansea, said she thought her baby boy 'was dead' when she saw how small he was and never heard him cry, Wales Online reports.

But thankfully, Welsh Ambulance Service paramedics got to the scene in time and keep the tiny tot warm, put him on oxygen and administered emergency care before rushing him to hospital, where he spent the first several months of his life.For Jenna, who works for the DVLA, everything was fairly normal with the pregnancy until she lost "a lot of water" at 20 weeks and was put on weekly monitoring.She recalled: "At my 28-week scan, I was told the water had increased and that things were fairly normal.
