Tennis icon Judy Murray reschedules fun day at Lanarkshire club

Judy Murray’s planned visit to Rutherglen Tennis Club last weekend has been rescheduled for this coming Saturday as the nation mourns the death of Queen Elizabeth II.The famous tennis coach, who is Andy and Jamie’s mum, is visiting the tennis club for a ‘Mini Murray Day’ between 2pm and 6pm.The event has been organised to celebrate the return of the Davis Cup to Glasgow, which will see Sir Andy compete for Great Britain in Group D of the Davis Cup at Glasgow’s Emirates Arena, where the team will face United States, Netherlands and Kazakhstan between September 13-18.Saturday’s fun day will go ahead as previously billed, with several games and activities for people of all ages and abilities, including a ‘Battle of the Brits’ skills challenge.The club took to social media to say: “Having postponed our Mini Murray Day as a mark of respect for Queen Elizabeth II and having heard confirmation that the Davis Cup will go ahead this week, we’ve taken the decision to reschedule for this Saturday.
