I met her at a garden party when it was my regiment's colours being trooped, I spoke to her, and she asked me what I did in Northern Ireland as she had noticed my medal for that service.
I told her I did what any normal Guardsman did Ma'am, to which she replied with the hint of a smile, that she didn't know there was such a thing as a normal Guardsman!
