Teenager in hospital with serious injuries after being hit by car outside Morrisons in Ayr

Get the stories that interest you straight to your inbox every day with our personalised newsletterPolice are appealing for witnesses after a teenage boy was left with serious injuries after being hit by a vehicle in an Ayr supermarket car park.The 14-year-old was struck by a grey Ford Focus outside Morrisons on Castlehill Road at around 6.45pm on Friday, October 23.The driver of the vehicle stopped and the ambulance and police attended the scene.The boy is currently receiving treatment for serious injuries at the Royal Hospital for Children in Glasgow.Initial witnesses have been spoken to and available CCTV has been checked.Constable Munro, based at Ayr Police Station, said: "Our enquiries have been ongoing since we attended this incident.
