Teenage boy among six injured in Glasgow stabbing which is not being treated as terror

The mass stabbing in Glasgow this afternoon which is feared to have killed two people is not being treated as a terror attack.

A police officer, 42, fighting for his life in hospital, is among six people confirmed to have been injured at the Park Inn Hotel on West George Street.

The knifeman was shot dead at the scene by armed police. The ages of those injured have been confirmed by Police Scotland as 17, 18, 20, 38 and 53.

First Minister Nicola Sturgeon said people's thoughts should be with those injured. She said: "All of us should bear them in mind, bear their families in mind and make sure we focus on all of the great things that bring our city together."
