A teenager initially told by doctors that she was experiencing growing pains was later diagnosed with a rare degenerative condition.
Abria Lewis, 15, was found to have chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy, an auto-immune disorder which prevents her from walking, talking and even breathing properly.
After receiving the devastating diagnosis at age 10, the talented school athlete and swimmer was forced to give up most of her passions almost overnight and is now dependent on her family's care.
For five years, she has lived with the condition by undergoing a plasma exchange every month and taking medication which kept her "borderline stable", Wales Online reports.
