Teen, 18, dies two weeks after stabbing as murder investigation launched

Police today launched a murder investigation after an 18-year-died in hospital two weeks after he suffered serious stab injuries.

Emergency services were scrambled to Abingdon Avenue in Unsworth near Whitefield at around 5pm on March 28 to reports a man had been stabbed.

He sustained a serious injury to his arm and was taken to hospital. Now police have confirmed that, two weeks after the attack, the victim has died in hospital of his injuries and a murder inquiry is underway.

Before the death, four people were charged but Greater Manchester Police said in a statement the charges 'will be updated' following the death of the young man, who has not been named.
