Joe Otterson TV Reporter Phil Dunster is reuniting with “Ted Lasso” co-creator Bill Lawrence at HBO. Dunster has signed on to star alongside Steve Carell in the untitled HBO comedy series written by Lawrence and Matt Tarses that was originally picked up back in May.
The half-hour series has been given a 10 episode order. The official logline states that the single-camera show is “set on a college campus, centering on an author’s complicated relationship with his daughter.” Dunster’s exact character details are being kept under wraps.
Dunster is best known stateside for his role as Jamie Tartt in “Ted Lasso,” which aired for three seasons at Apple TV+. Dunster received an Emmy nomination for best supporting actor in a comedy for the series in 2023.
His other notable roles include shows like “The Devil’s Hour,” “Strike Back,” and “Humans,” as well as films like “Murder on the Orient Express” and “The Good Liar.” He is repped by CAA, Brillstein Entertainment Partners, Shelter PR, and Jackoway Austen Tyerman.
