Joe Otterson TV Reporter The NBC comedy series “Happy’s Place” has received an order for additional episodes at NBC. The freshman multi-cam comedy has been picked up for five more episodes, bringing the total episode order to 18.
The series debuted in the Friday 8 p.m. timeslot on Oct. 18. Per NBC, the series premiere has pulled in 14 million viewers across all platforms since its debut, while the series itself has improved on its timeslot average by 90% among total viewers and 88% in the key adults 18-49 demographic.
Reba McEntire stars in the series along with fellow cast members Belissa Escobedo, Melissa Peterman, Pablo Castelblanco, Tokala Black Elk and Rex Linn.
Per the official logline, “Bobbie (McEntire) inherits her father’s tavern and is surprised to discover that she has a new business partner, Isabella (Escobedo), a twentysomething half-sister she never knew she had.” Kevin Abbott is the writer and executive producer on the series, having co-created the series with Julie Abbott.
