Taylor Swift has announced she is postponing the second of her Eras Tour concerts in Brazil following the tragic death of a fan in the crowd. The 33-year-old was due to play a second night at Estádio Nilton Santos in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil, on Saturday night, but has made the decision to postpone the show due to "extreme temperatures" which saw a fan suffer a cardiac arrest and sadly pass away during Friday night's concert.Taking to Instagram, Taylor wrote to her 276million followers: "I'm writing this from my dressing room in the stadium. The decision has been made to postpone tonight's show due to the extreme temperatures in Rio. "The safety and well-being of my fans, fellow performers, and crew has to and always will come first." It is not yet known if a third show at the stadium, currently scheduled to take place on Sunday night, will go ahead. The announcement comes hours after the singer reacted to the news of 23-year-old fan Ana Clara Benevides' death.
Once again taking to Instagram, Taylor wrote earlier in the day: "I can't believe I'm writing these words but it is with a shattered heart that I say we lost a fan earlier tonight before my show. "I can't even tell you how devastated I am by this. There's very little information I have other than the fact she was so incredibly beautiful and far too young." Planning for Saturday night's show to go ahead at the time, she continued: "I'm not going to speak about this from stage because I feel overwhelmed by grief when I even try to talk about it.
