A 'helpful and caring' Manchester woman was found dead after going out on a bike ride. Rachel Jackson's body was found in Avenham Park, Preston, a day after she was reported missing.
The 38-year-old, who was a talented artist, was staying with a friend at the time but went out on her bike after complaining that she was feeling hot.
An inquest at Preston Coroner's Court today (Thursday) heard that Rachel had travelled from her home in Didsbury to Preston on March 30 of this year to visit her friend, Lucy Nowak, who was the mother of Rachel's four-year-old nephew. Rachel told her friend she was feeling unwell and had been seen by mental health services the day before. She was worried about a letter she received from HMRC and had 'not been her best' since returning from a holiday in Barcelona, Lucy said.
