Todd Spangler NY Digital Editor Ari Emanuel converted a portion of his ownership interest in Endeavor into a cash payment of $173.8 million with Silver Lake’s deal to take the company private, according to a regulatory filing. Patrick Whitesell, a top Endeavor exec who’s leaving the company, received $100 million in cash. Emanuel, who founded the talent agency in 1995 and most recently served as CEO of Endeavor, is now executive chairman of the newly renamed WME Group, which will be led by Mark Shapiro.

Todd Spangler NY Digital Editor StubHub, a secondary ticketing marketplace for live events, filed a registration statement Friday with the SEC for an initial public offering. The number of shares to be offered in StubHub’s IPO and the price range for the proposed offering have not yet been determined. StubHub has applied to list its Class A common stock on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol “STUB.” According to its S-1 filing with the SEC, StubHub generated $1.77 billion in revenue, up 29% year over year, and had a net loss of $2.8 million for 2024.

Roblox is involved in an “active investigation” by the US Government.In response to a freedom of information request filed by Bloomberg, it’s been discovered that Roblox is involved in an ongoing investigation being led by the US Securities and Exchange Commission, whose primary goal is to crack down on manipulation of financial markets.“We have confirmed with Division of Enforcement staff that there are responsive emails between Enforcement staff referencing Roblox and that these emails are a part of an active and ongoing investigation,” the SEC said.However the extent of Roblox’s involvement, or who the subject of the investigation actually is, hasn’t been revealed. The SEC said sharing any further information would cause “harm to the ongoing enforcement proceedings” and Roblox hasn’t responded to any requests for comment.In 2021, a video from People Make Games claimed that Roblox was taking advantage of its young playerbase by selling them the dream that they could become entrepreneurs with their creations and earn “serious cash” in the process.The documentary went on to claim that Roblox is designed to “turn its young users into workers”, with any money earned via the game’s Create tool paid out as in-game currency Roblux, with Roblox taking a 75.5 per cent cut of all profits.Last year, Roblox boss Stefano Corazza responded to the allegations.

Cynthia Littleton Business Editor The Securities and Exchange Commission filed a lawsuit Tuesday against Elon Musk, accusing the owner of X of failing to properly disclose his purchases of Twitter stock prior to his acquisition of the social media platform in 2022. The suit, filed in federal court in Washington, D.C., alleges that Musk was required to file a “beneficial ownership” form with the SEC to disclose that he had amassed more than 5% of shares in the company by March 24, 2022. The SEC complaint states that Musk began buying up Twitter shares early in the year.

The Securities and Exchange Commission filed an action against Elon Musk dating back to his 2022 acquisition of Twitter, now X. alleging that he was “enriched” to the tune of $150 million by not reporting a stake he had amassed in the social media platform within a required five day window and, instead, buying more stock.

McMahon consented to the entry of the SEC’s order finding that he violated the Securities Exchange Act by “knowingly circumventing WWE’s internal accounting controls and that he directly or indirectly made or caused to be made false or misleading statements to WWE’s auditor,” the agency said.
