Psyonix has announced player-to-player trading in Rocket League will be removed in December so that it aligns with Epic Games‘ terms for in-game items.“We’re making this change to align with Epic’s overall approach to game cosmetics and item shop policies, where items aren’t tradable, transferrable, or sellable,” explained Psyonix in a post to the game’s official website.It said that the move “opens up future plans” for a selection of Rocket League vehicles to cross over into other offerings from Epic Games, though it was not stated which games these would be.Rocket League and Fortnite crossed over for the first time in 2020 following Psyonix’s buyout by Epic Games in the previous year.This was followed by the High Octane event in 2022, which brought the game’s iconic Octane battlecar to Fortnite and let players pull off stunts to travel across the map and escape from skirmishes.It also allowed Rocket League and Rocket League Sideswipe players to earn the Whiplash car in those games through the completion of High Octane quests on the Rocket League Live Island in Fortnite.Player-to-player trading in the game will end at midnight GMT on December 6.

Now, the three games set to appear at the event have been revealed, which also includes Rocket League and eFootball, with the latter starting the event off.

Rocket League Season 6 will begin on Wednesday (March 9) and it focuses on putting an animated spin on things.The latest season of the vehicular football game will feature a new arena variant, amongst other things. The new arena is a comic book inspired variant on Neo Tokyo which was added back in 2016. The cyberpunk-inspired stadium now offers a distinctly more animated experience.In addition to the revamped arena, there will also be a new Limited Time Event which features an equally new Limited Time Mode.

Epic Games is adding achievements to select games on the Epic Games Store, with development tools rolling out to others over time.Epic Games Store users will find that some of their games have been updated with new achievements for them to collect. While the first wave of games may be small, the tools will soon be available for all developers to add achievements if they want.The system appears to behave as a merger of Xbox’s Gamerscore and PlayStation’s trophy system.

Rocket League players from hitting 120 FPS on the PS5 will not be fixed until “Early September”.The official Rocket League Status Twitter account has shared that while Psyonix is aware that PS5 players cannot access 120 FPS, a fix for the bug will not be ready until “Early September”.Under the known issues segment of Rocket League‘s site, the very first issue lists:“[PlayStation 5] Game runs at 60 FPS instead of 120 FPS despite using compatible hardware and setting client to “Performance” mode”Update on PS5 120 FPS support: After working on the issue this week, the performance mode bug preventing 120 FPS play will be fixed in an update coming in early September.This bug is currently on our Known Issues list, which you can read here:

Psyonix has started to work on upgrading Rocket League to run on Unreal Engine 5.Currently the vehicle football game uses Unreal Engine 4 but according to a job listing on Psyonix’s website, the developers are looking for a marketing copywriter to assist with future projects “including Rocket League: Sideswipe (a mobile version of the game) and Rocket League’s move to UE5.”The listing has now been updated to remove the reference to Unreal Engine 5, but posting on Reddit, a member of the Psyonix developer team Psyonix Devin confirmed that “upgrading the technology that powers Rocket League, including a move to UE5, is something we are actively working on.”However he did go on to add that “this is a long-term project for us, and we’ll share

Sony has announced a continuation to their ‘Play At Home’ event, extending the giveaway to include free in-game items and currency.Initially a free game giveaway event, ‘Play At Home’ will evolve into a smaller event for the next few weeks.
