Liam Gallagher now denies a new Oasis album is in the works: “It was a laugh”
Liam Gallagher has gone back on his claims that Oasis are currently recording a new album, telling fans “it was a laugh”.Since the Britpop icons announced their initial reunion shows earlier this year, which will see them play live together for the first time since 2009, Liam has been teasing that there is more than just a tour on the horizon. In September, when one fan asked “Is it true that Oasis will have a new album???”, Liam replied: “Yep it’s already finished.” He also responded to a fan asking if a new record was “in the air”, to which he said, “It’s in the bag mate fuck the air”.Then, earlier this month, he told fans on Twitter/X that he was “blown away” by the material Noel had written for the record. A comment he made back in April also resurfaced after the comeback announcement, in which he suggested Oasis would be recording a new album in November. While Liam is known for being light-hearted and flippant on X/Twitter, and his tweets fall well short of any official confirmation, he does have form in leaking clues to the news before it becomes public knowledge, having initially teased the band’s reunion and their UK and Ireland 2025 tour dates before both were officially confirmed. But, now, he’s dismissing his earlier teasers, saying there’s “no Oasis album in the making”.
