Gently Tender have spoken to NME about their long-awaited debut album, ‘Take Hold Of Your Promise!’, and how it tackles dealing with “anxieties and chaos”.The band formed out of the ashes of Palma Violets following their split in 2016, with former members Sam Fryer, Will Doyle and Peter Mayhew, joined by The Big Moon’s Celia Archer and guitarist Adam Brown“I’ve been very privileged to be in music for a very long time, because I got into it at a very young age,” Fryer told NME. “But that did take its toll mentally on me and I’ve been trying to deal with that and balance that with the old band, and then with this new band I’ve found that I now know how to control my emotions and, hopefully, can enjoy this moment more than I have in the past.”After Palma Violets broke up, the singer and guitarist turned to long walks and meditation to help process the whirlwind of the band and “what to do next”.

The National have shared a remix of Neu!‘s 1972 track ‘Im Glück’ – you can listen to it below.Matt Berninger and co’s new interpretation of the song will feature as part of Neu!’s 50th anniversary boxset, which is due for release on September 23 via British-German label Grönland Records (pre-order here).The atmospheric eight-minute spin on ‘Im Glück’ will serve as the opening track on the 10-song ‘Tribute’ album. King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard have announced their next three new studio albums, all of which are set for release next month.The band shared the news on their social media pages earlier this morning (September 1), accompanied by a photo of three of the band’s members: frontman Stu Mackenzie, keyboardist/harmonica player Kenny Ambrose-Smith and drummer Michael Cavanaugh. In the photo, all three men are holding vinyl records; however, the artwork of each has been blurred out.The caption for the photo added that the band are “so excited to show you all” the as-yet-untitled albums.

Gorillaz have shared details of their new album ‘Cracker Island’ alongside the release of latest single ‘New Gold’ featuring Tame Impala and Bootie Brown.‘Cracker Island’ is released on February 24, 2023 via Parlophone (pre-order here) and marks the follow-up to 2020’s ‘Song Machine, Season One – Strange Timez‘.The virtual band, headed up by Damon Albarn, has a host of collaborators on their eighth studio album including Stevie Nicks, Bad Bunny, Beck, Thundercat, Adeleye Omotayond and the aforementioned Tame Impala and Bootie Brown.It’s produced by eight-time Grammy Award-winning producer, multi-instrumentalist and songwriter Greg Kurstin along with Gorillaz and Remi Kabaka Jr.Today (August 31) the band have also shared ‘New Gold’, which follows on from first single ‘Cracker Island‘. Arcade Fire began their 2022 UK and Ireland headline tour last night (August 30), despite recent allegations of sexual misconduct against frontman Win Butler.On Saturday (August 27), Pitchfork published an article in which four former fans of the band – who were aged between 18 and 23 at the time of the alleged interactions – accused Butler of sexual misconduct.Three of the accusers are women and the fourth identifies as gender-fluid who uses they/them pronouns.Butler responded to the accusations of “inappropriate” actions in a statement, claiming he was “very sorry to anyone who I have hurt with my behaviour” but maintaining that “these relationships were all consensual”.The musician added: “I fucked up, and while not an excuse, I will continue to look forward and heal what can be healed, and learn from past experiences.”Butler’s wife and Arcade Fire bandmate Régine Chassagne also shared her own statement, in which she said: “I know he has never, and would never, touch a woman without her consent and I am certain he never did.”After the accusations came to light, some fans called on the group to cancel their tour or offer refunds to those who no longer wanted to attend. However, the first show in Dublin went ahead as planned yesterday evening.Sharing a thread of tweets throughout the concert, one attendee said that Arcade Fire came out onstage to “rapturous applause” from the audience before opening with ‘Wake Up’.Later, it was claimed by multiple audience members that it appeared to be “business as usual” for the band.

Phoenix have teased that fans won’t have to wait much longer for their next album, revealing that they are now “done in the studio” and have “new music coming”.The French band, who returned recently with the song ‘Alpha Zulu’, have been working on their seventh album. Noel Gallagher has revealed more details of his two new custom Gibson and Epiphone guitar models, which launch today (August 30).The indie icon announced the plans for a signature electric guitar launch earlier this year, hinting at its imminent arrival last week.Two models have now been unveiled – a limited edition guitar from the Gibson Custom Shop, and another instrument that forms part of Gibson’s budget brand Epiphone. Both are inspired by guitars in Gallagher’s own collection.The Noel Gallagher 1960 ES-355 will be limited to only 200 units worldwide and took inspiration from the musician’s original ES-355.

Benjamin Clementine has announced details of his new record ‘And I Have Been’ and shared lead single ‘Genesis’ – check it out below.‘And I Have Been’ is the follow-up to 2017’s ‘I Tell A Fly’ and is due for release October 28, via his own label Preserve Artists.According to Clementine, “‘And I Have Been’ was conceived during COVID. Like everyone, I was also confronted with a lot of lessons, complications and epiphanies to do with sharing my path with someone special.” The record was entirely written, performed, produced and mixed by Benjamin Clementine.The announcement also comes alongside new single ‘Genesis’.Speaking about the track, Clementine explained that “’Genesis’ is a song about the constant denial of my roots.

The War On Drugs have announced a limited-edition deluxe box set of their most recent album, 2021’s ‘I Don’t Live Here Anymore’.The new deluxe box set, which was announced yesterday (August 29), will feature the album on both 180-gram double vinyl and cassette tape. It will also feature a seven-inch record, which contains two previously-unreleased songs that were cut from the original album: ‘Oceans of Darkness’ and ‘Slow Ghost’.
