ResetERA have voted for their favourite soundtracks of 2024 – check out the results below.Last December, as part of ResetERA’s end of year roundup, members were given six weeks to vote for their favourite gaming soundtracks of 2024.“This thread will place a spotlight on the industry’s musical talent and expose people to great video game music that they haven’t heard before. It will also host a (hopefully) comprehensive archive of the year’s game music and other related information,” explained organisers.The results of the vote have now been shared, with Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth topping the poll. 90 ResetERA members included Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth in their top ten, with 65 naming it as their favourite soundtrack of 2024.Metaphor: ReFantazio came in second with 58 votes and Astro Bot came third with 50 votes.

Helldivers 2 was recently the subject of an outpouring of anger after a decision to force Steam players to link the game with a PSN account. That choice has been reversed, and players seem to be forgiving Sony for it.It was announced last week (May 3) that all Helldivers 2 players on PC would have to link a PlayStation Network account in order to continue playing the game.

Arrowhead Game Studios has revealed how the war in Helldivers 2 is being organised.Johan Pilestedt, the CEO at Helldivers 2 developer Arrowhead Game Studios, spoke about the war in an interview with PC Gamer, and revealed that it’s all being organised by one man named Joel.“We have an actual person with the job title of Game Master,” Pilestedt said.“We have a lot of systems built into the game where the Game Master has a lot of control over the play experience. Arrowhead Game Studios appeared to be hinting at a third faction for Helldivers 2 players to fight in an in-game announcement about “Illuminate sightings”.The Illuminate appeared in the first entry in the sci-fi shooter series. As an extremely advanced alien race, they used their cognitive abilities to create a web of surveillance and technology to both explore space and inform themselves about their enemies.The Loadout reported that an in-game Easter egg in the form of a ship broadcast referenced “rumours of Illuminate sightings” which was chalked up to the “work of dissidents”.At the moment, Helldivers 2 fights are against the Automatons or the Terminids, requiring different strategies to take out their different approaches.Automatons’ defence is focused on armour and they remain out of the line of fire with ranged attacks.

Arrowhead has released a new patch for Helldivers 2 which makes its hardest mission easier.Released today (February 19), the 1.000.009 patch for Helldivers 2 sees developers “continue to focus on stability and matchmaking”.However, the team at Arrowhead has also adjusted the difficulty of a number of missions. According to the patch notes, the Defend event, which is regarded as the hardest mission in the entire game, has had its difficulty “reduced”.It’s not all nerfs though.
