Arrowhead Game Studios has promised Helldivers 2 players will be able to utilise mechs in the near future, but has denied rumours Sony is acquiring them.Helldivers 2 was published by Sony Interactive Entertainment and quickly became their biggest ever PC launch last month, but creative director Johan Pilestedt has taken to social media to deny rumours they’re set to become part of the official PlayStation family.“We are not owned. Arrowhead Game Studios has revealed how the war in Helldivers 2 is being organised.Johan Pilestedt, the CEO at Helldivers 2 developer Arrowhead Game Studios, spoke about the war in an interview with PC Gamer, and revealed that it’s all being organised by one man named Joel.“We have an actual person with the job title of Game Master,” Pilestedt said.“We have a lot of systems built into the game where the Game Master has a lot of control over the play experience. It’s something that we’re continuously evolving based on what’s happening in the game.

Arrowhead Studios has said the ongoing issues with players accessing Helldivers 2 can’t be fixed by simply buying more servers.Helldivers 2 was released earlier this month and quickly became Sony Interactive Entertainment’s biggest ever launch on PC. Arrowhead Game Studios appeared to be hinting at a third faction for Helldivers 2 players to fight in an in-game announcement about “Illuminate sightings”.The Illuminate appeared in the first entry in the sci-fi shooter series. As an extremely advanced alien race, they used their cognitive abilities to create a web of surveillance and technology to both explore space and inform themselves about their enemies.The Loadout reported that an in-game Easter egg in the form of a ship broadcast referenced “rumours of Illuminate sightings” which was chalked up to the “work of dissidents”.At the moment, Helldivers 2 fights are against the Automatons or the Terminids, requiring different strategies to take out their different approaches.Automatons’ defence is focused on armour and they remain out of the line of fire with ranged attacks.

Arrowhead has released a new patch for Helldivers 2 which makes its hardest mission easier.Released today (February 19), the 1.000.009 patch for Helldivers 2 sees developers “continue to focus on stability and matchmaking”.However, the team at Arrowhead has also adjusted the difficulty of a number of missions. According to the patch notes, the Defend event, which is regarded as the hardest mission in the entire game, has had its difficulty “reduced”.It’s not all nerfs though.
