Liam Gallagher now denies a new Oasis album is in the works: “It was a laugh”
Liam Gallagher has gone back on his claims that Oasis are currently recording a new album, telling fans “it was a laugh”.Since the Britpop icons announced their initial reunion shows earlier this year, which will see them play live together for the first time since 2009, Liam has been teasing that there is more than just a tour on the horizon. In September, when one fan asked “Is it true that Oasis will have a new album???”, Liam replied: “Yep it’s already finished.” He also responded to a fan asking if a new record was “in the air”, to which he said, “It’s in the bag mate fuck the air”.Then, earlier this month, he told fans on Twitter/X that he was “blown away” by the material Noel had written for the record. A comment he made back in April also resurfaced after the comeback announcement, in which he suggested Oasis would be recording a new album in November. While Liam is known for being light-hearted and flippant on X/Twitter, and his tweets fall well short of any official confirmation, he does have form in leaking clues to the news before it becomes public knowledge, having initially teased the band’s reunion and their UK and Ireland 2025 tour dates before both were officially confirmed. But, now, he’s dismissing his earlier teasers, saying there’s “no Oasis album in the making”.

Ticketmaster and Oasis bonfire effigy revealed in Edenbridge after dynamic ticket pricing controversy
Oasis fiasco. The Kent-based society shared that the 11ft effigy which will be lit at the bonfire celebration this Saturday (November 2) was chosen as a response to Ticketmaster’s “greedy” dynamic pricing fiasco that occurred during the sale of tickets for Oasis’ 2025 reunion tour. The sculpture also features puppets of both Liam and Noel Gallagher as it was their reunion tour that brought to light the reality of the ticket seller’s inflated pricing scheme. As reported by BBC, the group have been “poking fun at infamous celebrities” for over 25 years and have previously targeted the likes of Donald Trump, Boris Johnson, Sadiq Khan and more.Ticketmaster unveiled as #BonfireNight effigy over #Oasis tour ‘fiasco’ https://t.co/UoNMzv6jcg pic.twitter.com/EhmnPUHsU0— Belfast Telegraph (@BelTel) October 30, 2024“In the eight years I’ve been doing this we have done so many politicians, so this year we really wanted to do something different,” Reece Hook – one of the effigy’s creators – told BBC.He continued: “Although our effigy includes Liam and Noel Gallagher, they are not our target – it is the corporate giant of Ticketmaster we have gone with this year. We are all big Oasis fans and wish them a very successful tour.”During the tumultuous sale for the legendary band’s UK and Ireland shows, some fans were disappointed to find ticket prices were impacted by the dynamic pricing policy upon accessing payment pages. The ticketing platform’s “surge pricing” scheme, introduced in 2022, increases ticket prices based on demand.
