AKMU‘s Lee Chan-hyuk will be making his debut as a soloist later this month with his first album, ‘Error’.Lee’s upcoming effort, titled ‘Error’ was first announced via social media earlier today (October 5). It will mark the musician’s first-ever solo project outside of sibling duo AKMU.A teaser image for Lee’s forthcoming record was also unveiled alongside the announcement, which features a cryptic photo of himself distorted by oversaturated film filters.

BLACKPINK and other YG Entertainment K-pop acts are set to embark on world tours in 2025, the agency has revealed.In a new video, YG Entertainment founder Yang Hyun-suk spoke about the plans the K-pop agency has for 2025. “I can’t say we have specific plans yet, but I think a lot of artists will be active simultaneously,” said Yang, who then teased touring plans for several groups, including BLACKPINK.Speaking specifically about BLACKPINK, the YG Entertainment head revealed that “there will be a highly anticipated comeback from BLACKPINK” in 2025, which will “also be the year [that the group] start their world tour”.Aside from BLACKPINK, Yang also revealed that both BABYMONSTER and TREASURE will “start their world tours” next year.

TWICE singer Nayeon has unveiled a huge line-up of collaborations for her upcoming mini-album.On May 17 at Midnight KST, the K-pop idol dropped a “Collab Artist Reveal” video on YouTube. The clip features Nayeon logging into a virtual meeting, with each producer and artist revealing themselves as they join the call.Per the album’s official tracklist released on X, KISS OF LIFE rapper and vocalist Julie will appear on the song ‘Magic’, while singer-songwriter Sam Kim and AKMU’s Lee Chan-hyuk will feature on ‘Heaven’ and ‘HalliGalli’ respectively.

Last Evaluation, an online series by YG Entertainment that will decide the line-up of new K-pop group BABYMONSTER, has been released.The episode picks up where the previous one left off, and opens with the performance of Rosé‘s solo song ‘Gone’, as covered by trainees Ahyeon, Ruka and Pharita.Their version of the track was positively received by the judges, which included WINNER members Hoony and Yoon, AKMU‘s Lee Su-hyun and YG Entertainment founder Yang Hyun-suk.Notably, Hoony gave special mention to Pharita, who said that her voice gave him “goosebumps”. Meanwhile, Lee complimented Ahyeon’s harmonisation skills: “It got me thinking that she’s capable of being part of a group”.Elsewhere in the episode, the second group from BABYMONSTER – comprising Haram, Asa, Chiquita and Rora – were assigned ‘Stay’ by BLACKPINK to perform.The quartet are later joined by Lee in the practice room as they rehearse their upcoming performance.

NewJeans swept the K-pop categories at this year’s Korean Music Awards, beating out popular contemporaries such as (G)I-DLE, LE SSERAFIM, IVE and more.The quintet took home the awards for both Best K-pop Album and Best K-pop Song, with their self-titled debut EP and the hit song ‘Attention’ respectively. AKMU have revealed that ‘NAKKA’, the title track of their latest album ‘Next Episode’, was inspired by the popular 2017 musical film The Greatest Showman.During a recent online press conference for the record’s release, the sibling duo shared how their love for the film had influenced the track’s songwriting process. ‘Next Episode’ was largely written by Lee Chan-hyuk, with addition production by Millennium, Peejay and more.“The song is about promising to always be at the side of someone who is going through a hard time,” Lee Su-Hyun shared, as translated by Soompi.
