A suspect has been charged over an alleged ‘midnight murder bid’ which left a man hospitalised with serious injuries.Emergency services were called to the scene on Shiel Walk in Livingston, West Lothian, at around 12.15am on Sunday, October 30.A 53-year-old man was found badly hurt after allegedly being attacked.

He was rushed to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh for treatment with medics describing his condition as “serious but stable”.Police launched an investigation into the circumstances of the incident, which is being treated as attempted murder.A 36-year-old man has now been arrested and charged in connection.

He is due to appear at Livingston Sheriff Court on Monday.A statement from Police Scotland said: “A 36-year-old man has been arrested and charged following an attempted murder in Livingston.
