Sundance Movie 'CODA,' Starring Emilia Jones, Breaks Record for Biggest Sale Ever

The new movie CODA has set a new Sundance Film Festival record for the biggest sale of all time! The coming-of-age drama, starring rising actress Emilia Jones, has sold to Apple for $25 million, according to Deadline.

The previous biggest sale out of Sundance happened last year when the movie Palm Springs sold to Hulu and Neon for $22.5 million.

That film is expected to get some awards attention at the Golden Globes next week. CODA premiered on the opening night of Sundance and it received universal acclaim from both critics and audiences.

The title’s acronym stands for Child of Deaf Adults and the film “centers on Ruby (Jones), the only hearing person in her deaf family.
