‘Suits: LA’ Gets Marathon On NBC With Newer Episodes That Harken Back To Original Series
deadline.comNBC‘s Suits spinoff got to a slower ratings start than anticipated, and the network is looking to correct that, slating a Thursday night takeover March 27 with encores of three back-to-back Suits: LA episodes.
They will replace previously scheduled reruns of NBC’s regular Thursday drama lineup. Unlike most similar stunts where viewers are given a chance to catch up on a new show from the beginning, NBC will not be re-airing the Suits: LA pilot.
Instead, it will rebroadcast the most recent Episodes: 3(“He Knew”), 4 (“Batman Returns”) and 5 (“You’re on Your Own”), the latter of which will air its original telecast this Sunday, March 23.
The choice likely has to do with Suits: LA‘s evolution. After a rocky start, the show started to get closer to Suits and its breezy style and lighter tone, in part due to studio UCP bringing back original directors who had shaped the USA Network series.
