Express.co.uk, the actress explained she “loved” her role in the sitcom and will feel emotional when fans stop “shouting Marlene at her in the supermarket”.Sue divulged: “For 30 years, Marlene was a big part of my life.“When people say, ‘Don’t you get fed up with people associating you with Marlene?’ The day they stop shouting Marlene at me in the supermarket is the day that I shall cry because I loved her.“I’d have gone on playing her until I was staggering around with a zimmer frame if I could.”The star went on to share her heartache over Only Fools and Horses’ scriptwriter John Sullivan’s death and revealed she is grateful to him for allowing her to continue playing Marlene alongside her on-screen husband Boyce (played by John Challis).
