Stunning shots of wildlife on show at free photography exhibition in Lanarkshire

The stunning work of a wildlife photographer is currently being showcased at David Livingstone's birthplace in Blantyre.The free-to-see exhibition of snaps by David McDougall features birds and animals from Scotland and Africa.David, who has lived in the South Lanarkshire town for the last decade, was keen to exhibit his work at the museum having worked in Africa himself.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.

The link between Africa and Scotland is evident in this exhibition with images of African and Scottish wildlife hanging side by side.”The photographer hopes that his images will raise awareness of the threat to many species of wildlife on the planet.He added: “In 1900 shortly after the death of Livingstone there were a million lions in Africa.

In 2011 when the lioness and cub image was taken there was thought to be 15,000 lions left in the wild.”During his time travelling he has managed to capture a host of wild animals,
