Carlisle United are keeping close tabs on Queen’s Park youngster Stuart McKinstry.The attacking midfielder has been a standout for the Spiders in recent weeks but is out of contract in the summer.
That has alerted the English League One strugglers who have had him on his radar since his time at Leeds. McKinstry only moved to Queen’s in November but has impressed since the arrival of Callum Davidson.
He has been moved from the wing to a more central position and has become a key player for the Scottish Championship outfit.The Cumbrian side look odds on to be relegated but are looking to rebuild for next season.
They also have new American backers who are looking to get the Brunton Park outfit back on an upward trajectory. McKinstry came through the ranks at Motherwell but then moved to Leeds United.
