Comedian Chris McCausland has opened up about feeling "feeling quite worn down" after his victorious stint on Strictly Come Dancing, which he found to be "relentless", and has revealed the major change he needs to make. The 47 year old comic shared that he indulged in his cravings during the show, confident that he was "burning more calories than what I’m consuming".
Making history as the first blind winner in the show's two-decade run, Chris triumphed over fellow finalists including Miranda's Sarah Hadland, Love Island's Tasha Ghouri, and JLS's JB Gill on Saturday.
Chatting on ITV’s Lorraine, he confessed: "You know what, it’s been a really emotional Saturday night, and I’m still kind of feeling quite worn down by it, three-and-a-half months, it’s relentless.
It’s consuming, physically and mentally, it takes its toll." Chris also didn't hold back in describing the gruelling nature of the competition. "And this is what this show does, it wears you down physically and mentally, and then it pokes you with a stick until you cry in front of everybody," he explained. The Liverpool-born comedian also mentioned how the show had taken over his life, requiring earlier bedtimes and leaving him mentally drained, even leading to him subconsciously counting steps at home.
