Strictly star Susannah Constantine reveals serious health issue which almost left her paralysed

Former Strictly Come Dancing star Susannah Constantine has recalled the terrifying moment she was rushed to hospital with a life threatening illness that could have left her paralysed.The 61-year-old, who shot to fame back in 2001 when she starred in popular self help show What Not To Wear alongside Trinny Woodall, was warned by medics she was at risk of being left paralysed or of suffering a brain haemorrhage.Doctors were alarmed to discover that the star had suffered a number of symptoms including pins and needles, tinnitus and a swollen left eye.Susannah was informed that surgery was necessary or she was at risk of suffering a severe medical condition, the Mirror reports.However, there was also the possibility of the surgery sparking another health problem too which left the star torn over what to do with her options being do nothing and suffer or go under the knife with the risk of some major health consequences.Susannah, who shared details of needing emergency surgery last year, has opened up about her experience in a new interview.

While her symptoms sound innocuous, and the consequences severe, she does not directly reveal the name of the health problem she was suffering from.Speaking toOK!

magazine, she explained: "They said 'It's Hobson's Choice, if you don't have the operation, you've got a one in three chance of having a brain haemorrhage, being paralysed or having a stroke. "If you do have surgery, you've got a one in 10 chance of these same things happening during the operation'." Savannah revealed she has been rushed to hospital last year as she shared a snap of herself getting treatment with an IV needle injected into her arm via social media.
