Strictly Come Dancing's head judge Shirley Ballas has found herself in hot water after her decision to save Wynne Evans over Shayne Ward caused a stir among viewers, leading them to question her future on the BBC dance show. The dance-off on Sunday night (10 November) saw Shayne, 40, and his dance partner Nancy Xu, 33, go head-to-head with Wynne, 52, and Katya Jones, 35.

Both couples gave it their all in a second performance, with Shayne and Nancy delivering a sultry Rumba to Cyndi Lauper's Time After Time and Wynne and Katya performing an American Smooth to MIKA's Grace Kelly. The judges were divided in their verdict, with Craig Revel Horwood and Motsi Mabuse backing Shayne and Nancy, while Anton Du Beke supported Wynne and Katya.

It was up to Shirley to cast the deciding vote, and she chose to save Wynne and Katya. On her decision, she said: "One of you displayed more of a powerful and joyous routine for me - so it was quite difficult for me to choose but on this occasion I'm going to save Wynne and Katya," reports the Express.

Shortly after the verdict, fans expressed their frustration on X, formerly Twitter, with some accusing Shirley of blatant favouritism.
