Strictly Come Dancing's head judge, Shirley Ballas, has spilled the beans on how she maintains her figure at 64. Besides her role on Strictly and keeping active with her current stint on Celebrity Bear Hunt with Bear Grylls, there's more to her fitness regime. The star revealed her controversial method of maintaining her size 10 figure - eating just one meal a day. "The first year on the Strictly Come Dancing tour, I gained ten pounds just in that one month," she confessed. "Then I realised: 'you cannot eat breakfast, lunch and dinner, Shirley, you are over the age of 60!" Speaking to The Sun, Shirley admitted she "ditched breakfast and lunch" after previously indulging in "oversized portions".
Now, she only eats dinner, typically a portion of rice with a meat protein, although she does have a juice around lunchtime. "I do intermittent fasting," she shared.
Intermittent fasting (IF) involves going for extended periods without eating, followed by a period of normal eating. Shirley follows the 18-6 rule, allowing her to eat during a six-hour window each day. This approach can be divisive, with some believing it aids weight loss, while others remain sceptical, reports the Mirror.
