Strictly Come Dancing contestant John Waite has said he feels "really safe" on the show, and that "the producers have had contingency plans in place for any kind of possible Covid scenario." His comments follow the news that celebrity contestant Tom Fletcher and his professional dance partner Amy Dowden tested positive for Covid-19 earlier in the week.

Fletcher and Dowden are now self-isolating separately and will have to skip this week's live show, with Fletcher saying that he is "gutted" to have had to drop out of McFly's current tour.Talking on C4 daytime programme Steph's Packed Lunch, Whaite said, "the producers have had contingency plans in place for any kind of possible covid scenario and I genuinely do feel safe there."Host Steph.
