Craig Revel Horwood has confessed to toning down his typically sharp critique on Strictly Come Dancing, worried that his earlier style could now be seen as bullying and possibly lead to him being 'cancelled'.
As the only original judge still on the show, the Aussie dance pro and TV personality spoke candidly with Radio Times. "I have changed my style of judging," the 59 year old shared, reflecting on past seasons. "I was really harsh 20 years ago.
When I look back, I think, ‘Ooh, that’s cutting.'" With concerns over how such remarks would be perceived today, he remarked, "It would now be classed as bullying, and then I’d be cancelled." However, he clarified that his evolved approach wasn’t out of "fear of being cancelled" but rather from thinking "more like a teacher than a judge".
Now, he's known for delivering feedback in a softer manner, stating, "I used to be very direct" with celebs, yet now aims to "wrap the truth in a nice way." The shift follows various stars voicing their experiences on the iconic BBC One dance show.
